Another project I ran in the Faith School in Cardiff was for 3 boys that live with Autism, ADHD and Sensory needs. These needs can affect how each workshop can run so they were tailored to the needs of the participants, making sure to keep it calm but also exciting to keep them engaged.

The participants all had an interest in art and all had different techniques and art styles. It  was my aim to develop their skills further to create final outcomes from all their hard work.

We worked on creating large scale painting in the modern graphic style that the boys created and a graphic novel of artwork and a story that have been developed by one of the Participants.

 

After I completed my placement here I was asked to stay on in a full time role and continue to support these boys until they moved on to their next steps. My final Participant left in school, who worked on his graphic novel during these sessions, is now completing his A Levels in Art. He will be moving on to his Foundation Degree in Art and Design and starting his own art career. It has been a pleasure to work with them these last 5 years.
