Morgan Powell
Artist and Facilitator
Older Adults.
This was a project that I ran in a care home for older adults in Cardiff. I ran a series of one to one sessions in the morning for Participants who are bed bound, blind or on palliative care. We often worked using hand over hand or with support to create artworks. As the weeks went on, Participants developed their confidence and were able to create artworks almost independently.
I also ran a series of group sessions centred on community and reducing loneliness. These sessions were also tailored to their needs as some lived with dementia, arthritis anvisual impairment. On average, 10 participants would attend and engage in sessions tailored to their interests; such as Still Life drawing, clay tiles and watercolour landscapes. Their artwork was exhibited in their home and sold to family and friends to raise money for charity.
*Some of these images were taken and sent to me are not the highest quality but they show some of the work that was created during my time at the home.
